Our program
Your legs will burn, sweat will drip from your brow, but your heart will be filled with joy. Together, we’ll take the final steps through the rocky landscape and onto the summit. If the skies are clear, we’ll be rewarded with panoramic views across Sweden’s majestic mountain ranges.
The Kebnekaise Massif
Located about 80 km southwest of Kiruna, the Kebnekaise massif is home to Sweden’s two highest points: the South Summit (2104 m) and the North Summit (2097 m). This area stands apart with its dramatic valleys, massive glaciers, and alpine beauty.
The peak itself is surrounded by four glaciers, including the well-known Björlings Glacier – which we’ll cross during our summit push.
The Challenge of Kebnekaise
Kebnekaise offers both reward and challenge. It’s a demanding route that requires determination and a “never-give-up” mindset. But the rewards are many: raw beauty, personal growth, and shared achievement.
Nature at Its Best
Here you’ll experience untouched nature – clean rivers you can drink from, grazing reindeer, powerful waterfalls, colorful wildflowers, and the towering, snow-dusted peaks of the north.
Team Spirit
This is not a solo summit. It’s a team effort. Together, we support each other to the top – and celebrate together when we get there.
A Physical Goal
The Kebnekaise trek is physically demanding – and an excellent motivation to train for. We’ll hike from valley to glacier and climb steep alpine rock. Reaching the summit is only halfway – don’t forget we need to return safely too.
Day by Day
Day 1 – Arrival and Trek to the Mountain Station
We meet in Kiruna – at the airport or bus station. Outside the baggage claim, our transport will be waiting. The ride to Nikkaluokta takes 45–60 minutes, during which we’ll offer you a light lunch and drinks. We then repack for the hike. Bring a comfortable 25–40 liter backpack with a broad hip belt and rain cover. If you need to rent a smaller pack for the summit, we’ll help on-site. (There may be an option to send larger bags by helicopter.) The first 5.3 km is a warm-up hike to Lake Laddjujaure (approx. 80 min), where Nils and Andreas will take us 8 km across the lake by aluminum boat – included in the package. From there, it’s another 8 km hike (around 3 hours) to STF Kebnekaise Mountain Station. We’ll stop to rest along the way. On arrival, we enjoy a light dinner and settle in for the night.
Day 2 – Summit Day!
We rise early and fuel up on porridge and bread. By 07:15, we begin our climb toward Kebnekaise’s South Summit.
We follow the western route, crossing rivers and majestic mountain sides with amazing views.
Once at the top hut, we’ll pause, enjoy a coffee, maybe change into dry clothes – and then head to the summit itself. About 40 minutes later, we’ll be standing on Sweden’s highest point. We’ll celebrate together before beginning our descent. A long but memorable day ends with a sauna and a hearty meal back at the mountain station.
Stage-by-stage:
Stage 1: Station → Jökelbäcken, gentle slope
Stage 2: Jökelbäcken → Kitteldalen
Stage 3:Virravagge - Kaffedalen
Stage 4: Kaffedalen - Old Top Cabin
Stage 5: Final walk to summit, 40 min
We aim to reach the summit around 13:00 and return the same way. New views and golden memories on the way down.
Day 3 – Activity Day or Backup Summit Day
We sleep in and enjoy a long breakfast. If the summit day was postponed due to weather, this is our reserve day.
Otherwise, today is for adventure and discovery! Join a hike to the stunning Tarfala Valley, climb Kaipak for more Via Ferrata fun, or walk down to the roaring rivers and glacial pools near Elsa’s Bridge – even take a quick dip if you’re brave!
Other options include a hike to Skartaklacken for rare panoramic views of the entire massif. No matter what you choose, this is a day to remember.
Day 4 – Return to Civilization
We wake early (06:30) for breakfast and begin the journey back. We hike 2–2.5 hours to the lake, then enjoy the 30-minute boat ride, followed by 1.5 hours back to Nikkaluokta. Our bus departs at 11:45, heading to Kiruna Airport for your journey home.

Please inform us of any food allergies in advance.
Preparation & Safety
Fitness
Kebnekaise is a serious challenge. Weather can be harsh: snow, fog, wind, or rain. Our guides always make the final call on whether the summit is safe to attempt. This is non-negotiable and coordinated with STF.
Training
No need to be an elite athlete – but prepare your body with hiking, especially with a pack (6–8 kg). A few hikes during the summer go a long way.
Mental Readiness
Sometimes, the mental challenge is bigger than the physical one. Expect long hiking days (10–14 hours). Support from the group is key – we do this together!

Warm, social, and experienced – a joy to hike with! Leading this journey alongside other trusted guides including Erik, Carl, Ram Silwal, and Rikard A Egeriis.
Safety First
No previous alpine experience is needed. We might use crampons, helmets, and ropes. We cross rivers, glaciers, and steep terrain – it’s fun, exciting, and well organized. Bring proper gear: shell clothing, hat, gloves, and solid waterproof hiking boots.
