Lobuche Peak with Ice Climbing Course
Expedition Leader: Saran Subba | Hi On Life Adventures
Tour Operator: Hi On Life Adventures
Departures: March/April and October/November
Minimum 4 participants required
Imagine standing on the summit, gazing out across snow-covered peaks and turquoise glacial lakes—knowing you’re higher than the tallest mountains in both Europe and Africa. Just a stone’s throw away rises Mount Everest and Nuptse, while Ama Dablam and Makalu stretch across the horizon in breathtaking beauty. Below you lies the steep and exposed ridge you just climbed—now part of your story. And yes, the sense of accomplishment is absolutely real.
Note: Most expedition companies only climb to the “false summit.” But with us, if you have the strength, spirit, and conditions allow—we always aim for the true summit.
Joining Hi On Life’s Lobuche Peak Expedition requires both physical endurance and mental resilience. Previous climbing experience is a plus, but not essential.

Lobuche East – A Himalayan Trekking Peak with a Real Climbing Experience
Lobuche East is one of Nepal’s most popular “trekking peaks,” offering not just breathtaking views, but a true mountaineering challenge. We begin our acclimatization by crossing the spectacular Renjo La Pass (5,347 meters) and spending a night in beautiful Gokyo. From there, we continue along one of the most scenic and airy trails in the region, passing through Phortse and Upper Pangboche—villages known as the birthplace of many of Nepal’s elite climbing Sherpas.
In Phortse, you’ll have the chance to visit the Khumbu Climbing Center, established by the Alex Lowe Foundation, which has helped train generations of high-altitude climbers.
Inspired and acclimatized, we continue to the base of Lobuche Peak, where we establish our Base Camp for several days. Here, you’ll receive expert instruction from our experienced guides and take part in a two-day ice climbing course—designed to prepare you for the technical aspects of the summit push.
A High Camp, dramatically set in a truly spectacular location, brings us even closer to our goal. Then, well before dawn, after what is likely a cold night under the stars, we begin our summit attempt. The climb typically takes 12–15 hours round-trip.
And the reward? An unforgettable view and the overwhelming feeling of standing on top of the world.
