This is a nine-day adventure that brings together two worlds: the color, taste and energy of Marrakech – and the quiet strength of the High Atlas mountains.

We start with two nights in a beautiful riad in the old town. Here you’ll have time to settle in, enjoy the slow pace, explore the markets, and take in the spices, music, and food that make this city so special. It’s the perfect way to arrive and prepare. When we are ready, then, we head to the mountains.

Led by our Swedish tour leader Gabriella Ekström and local legendary Moroccan guides, we walk through Berber villages and rugged valleys on our way to the summit of Mt Toubkal – the highest peak in North Africa at 4,167 metres. It’s a real adventure. Demanding, yes – but deeply rewarding.

After the summit, we return to Marrakech for one final night in comfort, with time to relax and reflect and celebration.

This is a short intense, powerful adventure.

The beautiful summit of Mt Toubkal - 4 167 meters

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Arrival at Marrakech Airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 2: Exploring Marrakech
A free day to discover the vibrant sights of Marrakech. Wander the Medina, explore colorful bazaars, or simply relax and soak up the atmosphere before the trek begins. Overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 3: Marrakech – Imi Oughlad (1400m) – Tizi n’Elbour Pass (1600m) – Imsker Village (1350m) – Amsakrou Village (1600m)
After breakfast, a 1h20 drive takes us to Imi Oughlad (1400m), the starting point of our trek. From here, we cross the Tizi n’Elbour pass (1600m) and descend to the charming Imsker village (1350m) before reaching Amsakrou village (1600m). A beautiful introduction to life in the Atlas Mountains. Walking time: approx. 5 hours. Overnight in a local lodge.

Day 4: Amsakrou Village (1600m) – Tizi n’Aguersioual Pass (2100m) – Aguersioual Village (1700m) – Matat Village (1800m)
Today’s route leads us over the Tizi n’Aguersioual pass (2100m) with stunning mountain views before descending through Aguersioual village (1700m). The day ends in Matat village (1800m), where we spend the night. Walking time: 4–5 hours. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Matat Village (1800m) – Tizi Oudid Pass (2100m) – Ait Aïssa Village (1800m) – Tizi Oussem Village (1950m) – Azib Tamsoult Refuge (2256m)
A varied day through high passes and traditional villages. We ascend to Tizi Oudid (2100m), descend into the Azzadene Valley through Ait Aïssa (1800m) and Tizi Oussem (1950m), then climb to the summer pastures of Azib Tamsoult (2256m). Overnight at the refuge.

Day 6: Azib Tamsoult Refuge (2256m) – Tizi n’Aguelzim Pass (3600m) – Toubkal Refuge (3207m)
A demanding but spectacular day. We climb steadily to the high Tizi n’Aguelzim pass (3600m) with breathtaking panoramas of the High Atlas before descending to the Toubkal Refuge (3207m). Walking time: 6–7 hours. Overnight at the refuge.

Day 7: Toubkal Summit (4167m)
Summit day! An early start takes us to the roof of North Africa—the summit of Mount Toubkal at 4167m. From the top, we enjoy far-reaching views across the Atlas and, on a clear day, to the Sahara. We then descend back to the refuge (3207m). Walking time: 6–7 hours. Overnight at the refuge.

Day 8: Refuge (3207m) – Imlil Valley (1740m) – Marrakech
We descend from the refuge to Imlil Valley (1740m), a walk of around 4–5 hours. From here, a 1h30 drive returns us to Marrakech. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 9: Departure from Marrakech
Transfer to Marrakech Airport according to your flight schedule.
